NHS Personal Wheelchair Budgets guide for Mobility Extra customers

NHS Funding

Personal Wheelchair Budgets

Use your NHS wheelchair funding towards a Mobility Extra powered wheelchair that suits your life.

A Personal Wheelchair Budget (PWB) allows eligible individuals to use NHS funding towards a wheelchair that best suits their lifestyle, preferences and clinical needs.

If your local NHS wheelchair service has assessed you and offered a Personal Wheelchair Budget, you may be able to put that funding towards one of our powered wheelchairs.

1
NHS assessment

Your local NHS wheelchair service will assess your needs and confirm whether you are eligible for a Personal Wheelchair Budget.

2
Choose your wheelchair

If a Mobility Extra wheelchair meets your clinical requirements, you may choose one of our models instead of the standard option offered by your local service.

3
We provide a quotation

We will send you a detailed quotation and specification sheet to support your funding application.

4
Funding approval

Your local wheelchair service will review your request and confirm the amount of funding available through your Personal Wheelchair Budget.

5
Delivery

Once approved, we will arrange delivery of your wheelchair directly to your door.
